April WIPocalypse

Greetings all, I took a look at the WIP list on my website and picked this project to work on. "Pegasus and Butterflies" a Crewel / Embroidery project that I haven't touched since Jan. 27, 2007.  I find I really don't care to work with wool so the poor thing gets neglected a lot.

Now for this month's topic question.

April  22 – Topic: What do you listen to while stitching? (via Jo)

Usually I listen to the radio either a pop/country or 70's/80's music station.  I tried listening to audio books while stitching, but I'd get so wrapped up in the story that I'd catch myself - hands motionless not stitching.  So I stick to the radio if I want to get some serious progress done.  I can binge watch Dark Shadows on DVD.  That old soap opera progressed so slowly in its story arc that I can easily listen and not look; one disk has roughly nine 30 minute episodes.  I'm at episode 74 of 2,225.

Well that's it for this blog post.  Thanks for stopping by.......

Very pretty. I remember watching Dark Shadows as a kid. I thought it was scary then. But enjoyable now.

I love the pegasus pattern and butterflies are so pretty with the rainbow of colors. I'm a Dark Shadows fan too.

Your crewel work has gotten a lot farther long than mine - I finished one, but when I tried to stretch it, the threads all broke :( The other has not really made it out of the package. I really didn't enjoy working with he wool either. Need to find it a good home with someone who would love it.

Wow, this is beautiful! I could never get the knack of embroidery, so I admire your talent. Great progress!

I have a hard time with crewel wool as well. I really want to try it but the one time I did I didn't enjoy the experience. A guild member I spoke with said I would like it if I learned how to do it properly. We'll see ;)

That unicorn and the butterflies are so pretty! You must stitch this more often!

What bright colors, sorry you're not enjoying this one! I understand though, I've got a couple crewel kits too and just can't get into it either.
